Miami, FL – August 31, 2020: Dillard University, a private, historically black, liberal arts institution in Louisiana partners with QuickLaunch to automate user provisioning and streamline user lifecycle management. As part of this collaboration, QuickLaunch will be offering its proprietary Single Sign-On, Password Manager with MFA, Adaptive Authentication, User Self-Registration and Automated Provisioning to Dillard University.
The Problem
Login to multiple applications (such as Jenzabar, Canvas, Gmail, PowerFAIDS etc.) using multiple credentials was a big challenge for the university. This increased the number of password reset requests going through IT help desk and drained user productivity. Not only this, new user onboarding was another problem for the university. New users were sent default passwords to login to their accounts which was a threat to institutional security. Moreover, the new users were provisioned manually into the system which was another productivity drain for IT administrators.
The university was looking to implement security factors to allow systems to run without disruption. Faculty members, staff, and students will rely heavily on new security measures to ensure learning and university business is uninterrupted. Two-step authentication measures were required to ensure the safety of distance learning remains intact.
Moreover, the university faced the challenge of security issues amongst the student population. Securing the university's internet platform in order for students to access pertinent information was another challenge experienced by the student population.
Therefore, the university was looking to make student’s learning experience more seamless, secure and user-friendly. They wanted to develop and implement long-term enhancements with expansion of current infrastructure and capabilities for students to work and access university service on campus and remotely.
The Solution
The new partnership with QuickLaunch will help Dillard University to solve most of the challenges faced by the institution. Single Sign-On will help the institution to provide one-click, secure access to multiple applications to their users based on roles and privileges they are assigned in the business hierarchy. Password Manager with MFA will help the users to reset lost/forgotten passwords using multiple factors of authentications such as security questions, SMS and Email OTP.
Adaptive Authentication will alert the user in case of suspicious activity and will prevent false access to user account. User Self-Registration will solve the problem of sending default passwords to users as users will receive a link on their email from where they will be directed to set up their security profile and password. Automated provisioning will help IT admins to provision users on the fly and deprovision them even faster when a user joins/leaves the institution.
The newly launched app will support higher ed institutions to promote online learning while delivering a better user experience, increase app usage, reduce help desk call volumes, help them send custom alerts and notifications to the app users and enhance institutional security. While for the organizations, QuickLaunch Mobile app will boost organizational security, increase app usage, prevent false access, and allow users to login from anywhere, anytime.
