Maria College of Albany selects QuickLaunch to Provide One-Click Secure Access to Multiple Application and Automate User Provisioning

Miami, FL – September 16, 2020: Maria College of Albany, a small, private college Albany, New York selects QuickLaunch to provide seamless login experience to its users (students, staff and faculty) and automate user provisioning. As part of this collaboration, QuickLaunch will be offering Identity Provider, Single Sign-On, Password Manager with Multi-Factor Authentication, Adaptive Authentication, Automated Provisioning and Mobile App to Maria College of Albany.

Challenges Faced by Maria College of Albany

One of the biggest challenges faced by the institution was that students never know what username and password to use for different applications they were using. This resulted in chaos at Help Desk as a large volume of password reset tickets were raised. This was a significant drain to user productivity as well IT productivity. Moreover, users’ tickets would have to wait on long queues before getting resolved.

Multiple passwords for multiple applications was another major challenge. The students have to maintain a record of these passwords on spreadsheets or sticky notes as remembering multiple credentials was a daunting task. This was a serious security threat for the institution that could lead to account takeover attacks.

The Solution

QuickLaunch Identity provider will help the institution to own and maintain a trusted and secured identity on the cloud. Single Sign-On will allows users (students, staff and faculty) to login to multiple applications such as Power Campus, Blackboard, O365, Ezproxy and Blackbaud among others using a single set of credentials. No more multiple passwords for multiple applications.

QuickLaunch Smart Password Manager with MFA will allow users to reset passwords on their own without the intervention of IT help desk using multiple factors of authentication (SMS, Email, Security Questions). This will not only reduce help desk calls and IT overheads but will also help to boost the draining productivity of users and IT.

Adaptive Authentication will enhance fraud risk assessments by leveraging artificial intelligence. It will trigger additional authentication based on deviations in user behavior (network, location, browser, device, etc.), preventing false access.

Manual provisioning can be laborious, error-prone and time consuming. Automated Provisioning will help the IT administrators to onboard users faster, streamline user access management across multiple applications, grant privileges to different users based on their roles and synchronize active directory changes to downstream applications within seconds. This will not only save manual effort and time but will also boost the productivity of IT administrators increasing security by ensuring the right access to the right users at the right time.

Mobile app will modernize the end user experience by giving users access to apps, login through FaceID and TouchID, ability to reset passwords and receive password expiry notifications, all from a mobile device.
