Grambling State University Selects QuickLaunch to Streamline User Lifecycle Management

Chicago, IL – Mar 17, 2020: Grambling State University (GSU), a historically black public university in Grambling, Louisiana chose to streamline user lifecycle management by implementing the only AI-driven Identity and Access Management solution by QuickLaunch. As a part of this collaboration, QuickLaunch will be offering its IAM suite (Identity Provider, Single Sign-On, Smart Password Manager with MFA, Adaptive Authentication and Automated Provisioning) to support Grambling State University and their goal to implement a state-of-the-art IAM solution.

Challenges faced by Grambling State University

GSU was provisioning user accounts manually and utilizing scripts to extract data from the SIS (i.e. Banner) as well as powershell scripts to create Active Directory and Office 365 accounts. Grambling State University was in the middle of implementing a number of new enhancements in their technology platform to better serve their students, staff and faculty and looking for a centralized system to be in place that can solve all of the identity and access management related challenges.

Solutions Offered by QuickLaunch

QuickLaunch Single Sign-on will allow GSU users (student, staff and faculty) to access all their applications such as Banner, Canvas, Office 365, DocuSign etc. using a single set of credentials and providing a unifyed login experience for its users.

Smart Password Manager with MFA will allow users to reset their passwords using multiple factors such as Challenge Questions, SMS and Email OTP all without the intervention of IT. By utilizing Smart Password Manager, GSU will decrease help desk costs by reducing the number of reset password calls to the help desk and will improve the productivity of IT personnel by allowing the knowledge experts to focus on other tasks/projects.

Adaptive Authentication with detect high risk logins and prompt users for multi-factor authentication ensuring that the user proves their identity one more time before logging into GSU’s portal. It will give a boost to institutional security as false logins can be prevented.

QuickLaunch Automated Provisioning will help GSU replace custom and powershell scripts to provision users and will save the countless hours of IT time that was invested in provisioning users to AD and Office365 accounts manually.

Overall, QuickLaunch will help GSU to transform the end user experience, reduce helpdesk call volumes, minimize operational costs and replace manual provisioning with automated provisioning,
