Caribbean University selects QuickLaunch as its Identity Partner

Chicago, IL – June 16, 2020: Caribbean University, a private, non-profit co-educational and non-sectarian institution selects QuickLaunch as its identity partner. As a part of this partnership, QuickLaunch will be offering Identity Provider, Single Sign-On, Password Manager with MFA, Adaptive Authentication and User Self-Registration to the university.

Challenges Faced by Caribbean University

As the University moved to improve student's possibility of completing courses and graduate using online LMS and technology, it faced the challenges of providing online delivery of support services, the student authentication process, a transparent system of communication process between staff members to services, and security.

As students continued to evolve due to factors such as technology, job market needs and skills requirements, the university faced huge challenges. Because the demographic of students changed, the way they want to consume learning content evolved. The university wanted to provide secure distance education to meet the current needs of our students.

With cyberattacks and account takeover attacks on peak the university wanted to establish the ability to secure access their systems and applications used by students, administrators and faculty from home/ remote location.

Also, the university didn’t have a system in place to provide a unified secure login experience to its users.

Solutions

QuickLaunch offered its proprietary Single Sign-On, Password Manager with MFA, Adaptive Authentication and User Self-Registration to solve the identity related challenges faced by the institution. Single Sign-On will help the users to login to multiple applications using a single set of credentials without switching different screens.

Password Manager with MFA will enable self-service password resets anytime, anywhere using multiple factors such as challenge questions, email and SMS. This will free up IT help desk for other critical tasks.

Adaptive Authentication will eliminate the threat of account take over attacks due to remote access and will secure single point access to all their applications in the cloud.

User Self Registration with enable first time users to set up their security profile and password when they access the system for the first time. This will eliminate the practice of sending default passwords to new users joining the institution.

This will help the institution to transform end user experience, reduce operational costs, enhance institutional security, improve user onboarding experience, and boost productivity of the users (students, staff and faculty).
