LeMoyne-Owen College switches from Microsoft to QuickLaunch to Provide Secure Login Experience to its Remote Users

Chicago, IL – June 12, 2020: LeMoyne-Owen College, a private historically black college affiliated with the United Church of Christ and located in Memphis, Tennessee. replaces Microsoft with QuickLaunch to provide a unified, secure login experience to their users.

LeMoyne-Owen College was using Microsoft Active Directory as a Single Sign-On solution. The institution wanted a scalable solution that can provide a seamless, secure login experience to its users. QuickLaunch provided them with Single Sign-On, Password Manager with MFA, Adaptive Authentication and User Self-Registration.

QuickLaunch Single Sign-on will allow the users (student, staff and faculty) at LeMoyne-Owen College to login to multiple applications such as Office 365, PowerCampus, PowerFAIDS etc.

Password Manager with MFA will allow users to reset passwords without the intervention of IT help desk using multiple factors such as email, SMS and security questions.

Adaptive Authentication will detect unusual user behavior and will send notifications to the user for suspicious activity detected. In case of suspicion, the user will be prompted to verify his/her identity before login.

User Self-Registration will streamline onboarding process. A welcome letter with self-registration link will be sent to first time users so that they can set up their security profile.

QuickLaunch will help the institution to achieve intended user experience by creating a secure adaptive learning environment, providing students, staff and faculty with remote access to institutional resources and retooling the current environment in order to move to a 15% online curriculum.

LeMoyne-Owen College aims to enhance overall technology infrastructure for students, staff and faculty by protecting them against the evolving threat landscape. This will also help the institution to lower a number of potential security risks to pertinent systems. This effort will further help the institution with retention and persisting student success on college competences.
