QuickLaunch Announces that with QuickLaunch IDP and QuickLaunch SSO v4 Prebuilt Adaptors for Banner® 8/XE, Ellucian® Banner® Customers No Longer Require EIS

Chicago, IL – Aug 18th, 2016 - QuickLaunch Platform, a leading Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) provider of Single Sign-On, announces the release of QuickLaunch IDP which provides federation support for various protocols including CAS, SAML2.0, WS-Federation, Open ID and Open AM, thus eliminating the need for Ellucian clients to deploy, manage and maintain Ellucian® EIS.

QuickLaunch SSO’s prebuilt adaptors also eliminate the need for Ellucian® Banner® customers to develop, manage and maintain single sign-on integration to Banner® 8 INB, Banner® 8 SSB, Banner® XE and other third party enterprise applications including Office365®, Gmail®, Blackboard®, Canvas® and Moodle®..

“Currently, we understand that Ellucian® is recommending clients adopt Ellucian® EIS and purporting it to be a full-service SSO solution,” said Neeraj Kainth, CEO, QuickLaunch. “What clients are not being told is that they would need to deploy and manage CAS and Ellucian® EIS; CASify or SAMLize all third party applications for SSO; and then manage those SSO integrations on their own. Clients also don’t realize that they are introducing single points of failure as CAS is typically not implemented in a highly-available or clustered architecture. It is important for our clients to know that with LookingGlass and QuickLaunch they already have what they need to achieve SSO to all their services, including Banner® 8 and Banner® XE.”

QuickLaunch is currently supporting many institutions who are running both Banner® 8 and Banner® XE in parallel using application navigator along with providing SSO to other federated applications including Canvas®, Moodle®, Blackboard®, O365®, Gmail®.

QuickLaunch SSO Adaptors for Banner® 8 and XE are available at NO COST

Various schools have selected QuickLaunch as their preferred partner instead of having to implement and maintain both EIS as well as an onsite CAS install as QuickLaunch out-of-the-box comes with a highly available cloud based Identity provider. Institutions can leverage either CPS (CAS Protocol Server) or SAML2 integration for integrating Banner® XE and can continue to using CPS for their existing Banner® 8 components.
