College of Marin Safeguards Access to Data and Applications Using QuickLaunch Multi-Factor Authentication

Chicago, IL – Jaunary 3rd, 2018 - QuickLaunch, a leading SaaS-based Identity Provider in the higher education industry is delighted to announce that the College of Marin has launched QuickLaunch Multi-Factor Authentication. As a valuable customer since 2015, College of Marin has already been using QuickLaunch Capabilities such as Single Sign-On, Identity Provider and Self-Service Password Reset to boost Identity and will now be attaining Multi-Factor Authentication as an additional functionality.

The College of Marin launched Multi-Factor Authentication with QuickLaunch to meet authentication challenges and establish security with multiple factors. As part of this collaboration, the college will now add an extra layer of security with three layers of authentication, namely:

Phone Factor Authentication

Phone factor authentication eliminates numerous other authentication methods for IT. It sticks to phone hence provides flexibility to IT. It further consists of three methods of authentication:

  • Phone Call
  • Text Message
  • Push Notification

    Email Authentication

When a user logs in, a validation code or one-time code is generated and is sent to the inbox of the user. Email authentication also generates a go-to link for user verification.

    Security Questions

Security Questions let users choose from a list of security questions (along with a customize option), which helps them retrieve their passwords whenever needed. The right set of security questions makes a user’s account secure and strong.

"We are pleased that the College of Marin chose QuickLaunch for Multi-Factor Authentication.” said Neeraj Kainth, CEO, QuickLaunch. “We look forward to working with them on this piece to help them achieve their cybersecurity objectives."
