Coffeyville Community College Selects QuickLaunch to Streamline User Lifecycle Management

Chicago, IL – May 26, 2020: Coffeyville Community College (CCC), an institution chartered by the State of Kansas, selects QuickLaunch to automate user lifecycle management and to improve student communications and experience by having all of the accounts set up at the proper time, as well as providing a consolidated login process that will give students access to all of their network resources. As a part of this association, QuickLaunch will be providing its identity and access management solution (Identity Provider, Single Sign-On, Smart Password Manager with MFA, User Self Registration, Automated Provisioning and Mobile App) to support CCC and its goal to streamline user lifecycle management.

Why Coffeyville Community College Chose QuickLaunch?

CCC uses multiple applications such as Jenzabar, Powerfaids, Moodle, Gmail, Odyssey PCS and more. The users have to login to multiple applications using different sets of credentials. This hampered user productivity and provides a poor login experience to the end users.

Also, multiple sign-ons resulted in multiple password reset requests that were hard to manage and very time consuming for both users and IT staff. Further, the institution was using a default password pattern for student accounts. This was a major security threat to user accounts making the accounts vulnerable to being compromised.

The major challenge CCC faced was the process of creating accounts for new users. Whenever a new student joined the institution, the IT staff had to create the new account manually by running SQL scripts. The process was laborious and time-consuming. The scripts would fail to pick up some one thus having manual intervention on a daily basis.

How QuickLaunch will Help Coffeyville Community College?

QuickLaunch Single Sign-On will allow its users to login to multiple applications using a single set of credentials. This will boost user productivity and provide a unified experience.

Smart Password Manager with MFA will help the users to reset passwords using smart factors such as email, SMS, challenge questions, FaceID and TouchID without the intervention of the IT help desk. Since there will be a single set of credentials to login to all apps, the number of help desk calls, pertaining to password resets will be reduced and the IT staff will be able to utilize their time on other important tasks.

User Self-Registration will help the institution to end the practice of using default passwords for user accounts. It will push new users to create passwords for their own account when they login to the system for the first time. This will protect user accounts from getting compromised.

Automated provisioning will help IT to eliminate the manual process of user onboarding and automate user provisioning/deprovisioning, thereby saving a lot of effort and time being consumed in provisioning/deprovisioning every user manually.

Mobile app will modernize the end user experience by giving users access to apps, login through TouchID and FaceID, ability to reset passwords and receive push notifications about important announcements all from a mobile device.

QuickLaunch will be a true identity partner for Coffeyville Community College solving major challenges faced by the institution.
